Kingston Sound Works originated as a rehearsal space with a small retail store front in 1998. In conjunction with the rehearsal space, Sound Works also provided a full audio production company doing sound for bands ranging from local acts to Indie touring groups such as Joel Plaskett, to big label acts like Bernie Worrell.
A few years later co-owners, Rob Bailey and Joel Yearsley expanded the business and made the move to their current location at 267 Ontario Street. Kingston Sound Works now had a much bigger retail space, offering a wide selection of instruments, recording equipment, accessories and pro audio gear. Unfortunately, the new location could no longer accommodate a rehearsal space, so instead Sound Works started their School of Music offering lessons in guitar, bass, drums, piano and vocals.
